About Me

AzThanks for taking the time to read my blog! I’m Az Afterthought AKA Aaron *cough* and I’m a final year Experimental Psychology PhD student studying how people collaborate over long distances. I spent the first two years of my project with Hewlett-Packard Labs studying Halo telepresence (an amazingly life-like video conferencing technology, that is incredibly close to face-to-face communication) and published a white-paper with them on telepresence and neuropsychology. More recently I’ve moved on to virtual worlds — in particular Second Life — where I’m currently conducting a number of different investigatons.

I’m always up for a random chat or hello, so feel free to IM or friend me in-world. I’ll also do my best to reply to all messages sent through this site, although please keep in mind, I’m not the quickest when it comes to replying! :S

And FYI, the site’s name — a-res.info — is a contraction of Aaron’s Research Information — so there you go. Not completely random :)

My work is sponsored by Great Western Research in collaboration with Hewlett-Packard.
